Henrik

This picture of one of my good Danish friends (and colleague) Henrik Smith-Sivertsen was shot shortly before I moved to Mannheim. Taken with my D700 and a Nikon 70-300mm with two off-camera flashes (one flash through a shoot through umbrella and the second flash reflected through a silver lined umbrella) triggered with CLS.

Autumn in Mannheim

Autumn slowly – but surly – has arrived in Mannheim as this picture from Luisenpark shows. Taken with my Tamron 90mm lens attached to my D700.

Say hi to Mr. Okapi

During a recent visit to the Copenhagen Zoo we also saw some Okapis – this picture being my favorite from that visit. Since visiting a Zoo entails being behind a fence (or other form of barrier) my Nikon 70-300mm was a good tool, enabling me to capture the Okapi at the lens’ longest focal length.

In honor of my recent move to Mannheim here is a picture I took during May 2010 when I came to the city for a job interview at the Popakademie. The first stop was Uglich…Continue reading Russian mailboxes – gallery

Russian mailbox (Piter 2)

Mailbox (Piter – 2)

And for the – at least for now – final Russian mailbox. This one provides yet another mailbox form-factor.

Russian mailbox

Mailbox (Piter – 1)

Back in St. Petersburg this mailbox provides an example of the standard design. Note that the logo still is the Soviet hammer and sickle.

The Streets of St. Petersburg

During my last visit to St. Petersburg the weather was so nice (and hot…) that I managed to spend two days shooting what I like the most – street details and concert announcements. 😉 Here are the results:

Mailbox - Kizhi

Russian mailbox (Kizhi)

The charming island of Kizhi featured yet another mailbox design.

Mailbox - Goritsy

Russian mailbox (Goritsy – 2)

Goritsy had two different kinds of mailboxes and here is a picture of the other one (this one being in form similar to the one in Uglich).

Russian mailbox - Goritsy

Russian mailbox (Goritsy – 1)

Continuing the series of Russian mailboxes is a mailbox from the village Goritsy.
