my main research interests include traditional norwegian vocal music and post-soviet popular music especially in ukraine, belarus, russia and germany as well as higher music education.

theoretically i am interested in music’s entanglement with identity, conflict/war, religion and migration (including the concepts diaspora, cosmopolitanism and transmigrants) as well as transcultural flows, musical scenes, musical revivals, power relations within higher music education and questions of ethnographic methodology.
