Liberty view of Manhattan

A view of the south tip of Manhattan from the Statue of Liberty. Taken with my D700 and Nikon 16mm 2.8. More pictures from my autumn trip to New York can be seen here:

Halloween pumpkins

Walking through Manhattan last Saturday I saw a lot of pumpkins with nice carvings ready for Halloween – like these. Taken with my Fuji x100t.

Intrepid sunset

Rounding off the day at the Intrepid was this sunset at the stern of the aircraft carrier overlooking the Hudson river. Taken with my D700 and Nikon 20-35mm 2.8

Albanese Meats & Poultry

Walking home from the Tenement museum we passed this store front – I wonder what is so special about Albanese Meats & Poultry… Taken with my Fuji 100t.

Brick-love

Heading back uptown we passed this love-filled brick wall. Taken with my Fuji x100t.

Learn German…

… if you der [sic]! We passed by this somewhat amusing and somewhat disturbing word pun at the NYU campus. Taken with my Fuji x100t. Here are some more pics from the New York trip:

NY Tuna

This face with a delicious-looking tuna as a mouth is decorating a wall just above Houston Street. Taken with my D700 and 20-35mm 2.8.

Fucking techno

Walking through Williamsburg this sticker caught my eye (especially with “Nope” in the background). Taken with my D700 and 20-35mm 2.8.

Morning East River view

While out jogging one morning the light was very nice – which resulted in this view of the East river and part of Uptown Manhattan. Taken with my iphone.

Waterview of the United Nations

One of the advantages of taking the boat to Brooklyn (instead of the subway) is the view – like this view of the United Nations building. Taken with my D700 and 85mm 1.4.

Bench III

Following up the previous mensch-on-a-bench-posts here’s a bench I came across in New York. Taken with my D700 and Nikon 20-35 2.8.

Police Line Do Not Cross

While walking around Chinatown we passed this control barrier with “Police Line Do Not Cross” – blocking traffic from entering a street fare. Taken with my D700 and Nikon 16mm 2.8.
